Scratch

The Master got a new pair of shoes this weekend. A vintage pair of Reeboks...with the thick, white bottoms. He even stepped up into 2005 and bought some anklet socks. He really feels "in".
Today as he began to dress for our Mother's Day outing, he brought in an old pair of cut-off khaki shorts and a faded coondog t-shirt. He says to me, "Iron this t-shirt please." The Master should not attempt to dress himself, as on many often occasions he has ended up resembling a fourth grade student. (Slouch socks, cut-off shorts, and faded t-shirt.)
I suggest a button down, short sleeve shirt to go over the faded tee; however, he was still allowed to wear the khaki shorts. He seemed pleased with the idea and he proceeded to match it all up with his new sport socks and Reebok kicks.
After arriving at our parents' house, The Master's father made the first comment on the fashion ensemble....
Bruce Lee: "Hey, hey! You are looking sharp! You look like a college boy--whoohoo!"

The Master: "Whatever."

Bruce Lee: "Yeah, a college boy...you look like you're in one of those ferrarities."

The Master: Speechless.

Just one of The Master's father's many hilarious comments that he makes on a daily basis.
One day we wanted to ask him where our family lineage descended from. This confusion may have been partly our own fault for making the question a little vague.

The Master: "Daddy, where did the Anthony's come from?"

Bruce Lee: "Bethesda....you know, Bethesda Road."

(intermittent laughing)
The Master: "No Daddy...I mean, where did they come from before that."

Bruce Lee:(still very serious, answering confidently) "Oh...uh, Spartanburg."

The Master: "No Daddy---(with subdued giggling)--I mean...before that...where did they come from on the boat."

Bruce Lee: "Oh...on the boat....they came from Germany."

Genius! Finally we uncovered the roots of our family tree! (Explaining The Master's big nose and crotchety nature).
