Grant's twice told story of his American West adventure...
"Well 4 days, 2000 miles, and 6 tanks of gas later Jessi and I finally made it back over the mountain. But, yes there is a but to this story. Well it was Sunday evening of our road trip from hell and we just enjoyed our first real meal of the trip in Missouri. after our food settled we were back in the dodge and headed for what could be the worst ice storm to hit Nebraska in a decade but what the hay how bad could it be? well we drove all night through Missouri and finally hit the Nebraska line about 4 a.m. and then that's when it happened i saw what looked like sugar or salt floating across the surface of the road and then there it was. Black Ice. it was every where all over the highway like a thick sheet of glass only pentrable by the sword of Zuess I was only driving about 35 and i still had a hard time keeping control but luckily there was a rest area ahead. I skidded in off the highway and decided it best to wait until morning to continue so jessi and i bundled up with everyblanket we had and tried to sleep but it was just too cold the wind and snow was increasing and began to build up on my windshield finally daylight approached and we ventured out again only this time the roads had become even more dangerous by the build up snow and the now 60 to 70 mph winds that ravaged the poor dodge over and over we drove for several hours in these conditions but felt like we were going nowhere the highway was riddled with overturned rigs and wrecked vehicles so we decided it best to get off of the highway just as we exited we watch helplessly as an suv spun out of control and ended up on the side of the highway. we got off the interstate and pulled over on the shoulder and decided to wait out the storm.
To Be Continued........."
