Traffic from Jackson

Our Memorial Day weekend was spent visiting the bro and friends in Powell, making a long trip across the Big Horns we made it within four hours--good time considering all the wildlife and lost roads we decided to take on. After experiencing the Powell saloon scene, we skipped town and headed for Yellowstone, taking the long loop up to Old Faithful---which wasn't that faithful since he decided not to erupt once we arrived. Dodging tourists from every country imaginable we said to Hell with it and kept trucking---we have pictures of the old man spewing from five years ago. We moved on towards the South entrance and the Grand Tetons....or the Grand Titty as the bossman refers to them. After seven long hours in the park, gazing at bison and elk along the way, we finally rolled into Jackson at dusk. We were in for a surprise--this town has been "found out" and along the way decided to "sell out". We were, are, truly disappointed in our little honeymoon hideaway. What has become of the hidden ski villages across the Rockies? They no longer exist--they now resemble places such as the hideous and cheesy, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge areas. So we decided on a one night stay just to see the mountains once more and the next morning fled for Cody--fighting traffic along the way.

We made nice with the locals in Cody for a couple of days, and enjoyed a nice steak dinner at The Proud Cut Saloon (no Rocky Mountain oysters). We also managed to visit the Heart Mountain relocation camp which isn't too far from the bro's crib. This site was the most interesting of all the places we stopped along the way. I hope we get to go back here again--lots to learn.
I'm sliding in a few shots that the bossman managed to capture of the Tetons, the geysers, and the cause of a tremendous traffic jam on the way out of the park. It's raining and cold out here in prairie land--and the wind rocks the camper back and forth. For two days we've been on the sailboat.
