On with the outage

The old man arrived in his scrubs tonight, resembling a weary and stressed neurosurgeon who is happy to see another day's end. After dinner we resorted to the divan and sat down to read the full transcript of the presidential debate. I was happy to see Sen. McCain's mention of the nuclear industry and his nod toward the essential need for reusing spent fuel. This is in direct relation to the old man's job here at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Yucca mountain nuclear waste repository, which is still relatively unknown to the general public, is the current burial site for most of our nation's spent fuel. The canisters being sealed by the most elite in the robotic welding industry, i.e. the old man included. If Sen. McCain's statement deems reliable and worthy, those strong welds made by many Union Boilermakers across the country, would be busted (use of general layman's terms is necessary) to recover the spent fuel rods buried one mile beneath the earth's surface.
It's a tough job, but according to McCain, Japan and France are already on the bid making the most of spent fuel by putting it back in action.
Still, I was unmoved by either candidate (as usual) and after much debate among ourselves, the old man and I decided we're torn. Being a proud and loyal Union member, the international labor hall encourages its brothers and sisters to support our Democratic candidates. Our opinions vary, so we're naturally divided.
In the end we've decided to write in our favorite Libertarian, Mr. Clint Eastwood. Who's with me?
